Biographies

Lawrence Knorr, MBA, PMP, CCP,

Lawrence Knorr is a member of the University’s corporate faculty in the Computer Information Sciences major. Since August 2008, he is the Director of Information Systems at Giant Food Stores where he manages the staff and projects that support this 160+ store grocery chain (a division of Ahold USA). Prior to working at Giant Foods, Lawrence was the Chief Information Officer for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, the 650+ store retail chain operated by the Commonwealth. During his 27-year career, Mr. Knorr has worked in a variety of capacities in information systems, from computer programmer to CEO of his own consulting firm (NorSoft, Inc.) in the 1990's. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Business/Economics (Management concentration / Minor in History) from Wilson College, achieving summa cum laude honors and honors in his major. He received his Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Pennsylvania State University, achieving induction in Beta Gamma Sigma. Lawrence received his initial training in computer programming from the Lehigh Data Processing Institute (now Berks Technical Institute).

Mr. Knorr is a Project Management Professional with years of experience implementing information systems projects. He is also a Certified Computer Professional.

On a personal note, Lawrence is an accomplished digital artist, having shown his work in New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas in addition to local galleries (www.vonknorrgallery.com ). He is  an accomplished author having written several books on local history and genealogy, including "A Pennsylvania Mennonite and the California Gold Rush". Lawrence has two daughters and lives in Camp Hill with Tammi, his wife.
